REPORTER DEMO REEL

Cody Combs is an Investigative Reporter for Newschannel 3 - WWMT.

Through reporting, he is always looking to hold people accountable and shine a light on overlooked stories.

Please send any stories or potential investigations his way at cscombs@sbgtv.com

Prior to his time in West Michigan, Cody was a General Assignment Reporter for 13WHAM News in Rochester, New York, and before that, he was a morning reporter at WTAJ in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

His reporting helped expose an ethics investigation when he obtained a recording of a town supervisor making what many considered to be racist comments inside a government building.

He also helped to uncover the arrest of a town board member in New York State who was accused of impersonating a police officer. That board member was later relieved of his duties when the report came to light.

Other stories include investigating the safety track record of nuclear power plants, neighbor property disputes, as well the mystery surrounding the location of the Joe Paterno statue after it was taken down and hidden by administrators at Penn State.

With a strong interest in public service, at the age of 18, Cody ran for and served a term on city council in his hometown of Alliance, Ohio.

Cody received his undergraduate degree from Walsh University, where he majored in Government & Foreign Affairs. He later received his Graduate Degree from The Newhouse School at Syracuse University.

During his senior year of college, Cody interned with CNN's Washington Bureau, and upon graduating, freelanced with the network, soon moving on to produce for several of the network's shows. His work at the network included graphics producing, guest booking, video editing, and writing stories for CNN.com.
